Plain-language terms for using the LineageLens software and website. Base and Lite are open-source under the MIT License.

License

The Base extension and Lite backend are released under the MIT License — use, modify, and distribute them freely, including commercially, subject to the license terms in the repository. Plus and Max are commercial tiers governed by a separate subscription agreement.

Self-hosting & responsibility

You deploy and operate LineageLens on your own infrastructure. You are responsible for securing your deployment, your database, and the provenance data it stores. We provide the software and documentation; we do not access or administer your instance.

No warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. The risk score is heuristic and does not replace a SAST scanner or human review. LineageLens supports your compliance work but does not certify you and is not, today, validated against SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LineageLens and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the software or website.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
